A wonderful personal and professional contribution to recovery! As someone who personally knows Rawson, and with whom I have worked with for several years, it has been fascinating to read his life history and path into recovery. What a life transition, guided and abetted by his personal relationship with Christ. Thanks, Rawson, for your vulnerability and mission to bring others into greater freedom and life!

Extremely relevant for clinicians, counseling students, and persons in recovery. This book is a must have for anyone that desires to stay current on relevant research on substance use disorders, along with personal stories and reflections from Dr. Carlin's life. It is a must have for clinicians, counseling students, or a person in recovery. I read and buy a lot of books, but this book has been one of the most informative and eye-opening for things that I did not know. I have shared parts of the books with other professionals, who like me, were unfamiliar with some of the very relevant research that anyone in recovery needs to know. Your recovery library needs this book. An excellent purchase!!!!
